Jan 2010 poker nite.

Hiya!

First I’d like to thank Kathy for volunteering her place at the last minute in January for our poker night. Since Kathy was nice enough to provide her place, we decided not to drink as much so likeng won’t knock off beer bottles on the floor, and table. Plus Janet had danny on a real short leash, I couldn’t get danny to drink at all, that part sucked cause danny is so much fun drunk.

So, in case you didn’t go last time, too bad, cause I don’t remember much, after john is born I think I lost a lot of brain power due to lack of sleep. All I remember is, we didn’t drink! Zomg! I even got a designated driver so I can go all out, but Marty wouldn’t drink (had to drive back to wherever, such a wuss, the man gets drunk as fast as little michelle), danny couldn’t drink (he was on a short leash and wants to live), likeng was busy taking my money (and said he won’t drink cause he had to leave early to use video skype with the… “wife”), Patrick won’t drink… oh wait Patrick wasn’t even there. even if he were there he’ll give the drinks to fanny anyway.

More story on Danny, he was playing poker with us, and Janet was standing behind him. As every hand was dealt, danny would hold up his cards, looks at them, and turns around to look at janet. Then Janet would either nod, or shake. If she shakes her head, danny would fold. If janet nods, danny would put in the ante, or call the bet. But this is not news to us. What I’m getting to is, I can TOTALLY see marty doing this with joyce.

So we had 2 new comers in January, Paul’s brother (tom) and Likeng’s cousin (dan). Likeng was so nice to his cousin (Dan) that he invited Dan to the poker night and told him to meet us at kathy’s place. so likeng, being a good Taiwanese person, shows up in Taiwan times, which is 1-2 hrs late in American time. dan, on the other hand, showed up on time, and he was ALLLLLL alone sitting there don’t know what to do cause likeng wasn’t there. this story teaches us a lesson. When likeng invites you to an event, don’t show up too early!

Anyway, Daniel keeps up his good name of 50 cent, he kept on betting strong, which scared us at the beginning. But then his luck turned on him and lost to tom and dan. It’s like all the new comers always win! Tom had a ton of winnings but had to leave early, so he gave his share to Paul, and paul being a good man gives the winnings back to the rest of us.

The kids were playing nerf guns as usual, if marty had been there he would’ve had a good time!

This Saturday’s poker is at Amy’s place, it’s her first time so let’s be nice to her place. I’ll get Amy’s address sometime today and update that in the meeting invite. Hope to see y’all there!
